Built in 1732 Blacks is one of the great surviving examples of early Georgian architecture in London. By the 1990s, the building was virtually derelict, but Black’s re-opened in 1992 as a casual and unpretentious alternative to more career-oriented institutions. Today Black’s encourages its members to treat the house as their own home, to take pride in its history and to play a part in its future.
