Bam-Bou
Lady Blonde says: “Very different from the other Caprice Holdings restaurants but still brimming with character.”
Location: Fitzrovia
Nearest tube: Goodge Street
In the heart of Fitzrovia, Bam-Bou serves a south-east Asian menu featuring Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese flavours. Service is attentive, and the atmosphere is deeply relaxing. Furnished in French-Vietnamese colonial style, with lacquered walls and ornamental screens, the network of private rooms and top-floor cocktail bar makes this a hideaway haven.
Bam-Bou’s six dining rooms vary in size from seating nine to 30 and the top-floor Red Bar can accommodate drinks and canapé receptions for up to 60 guests. Menus start at £24.50 for lunch and rise to £34 -£44 for banqueting menus.
Food
Bam-Bou’s south-east Asian menu features Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines with dishes perfect for sharing.
Drink
Many come to The Red Bar just for its cocktails, which like with old and new world wines have been chosen to complement the south-east Asian menu.
Lady Blonde's Highlights
The Bam-Bou cocktail (£8) with vodka, fresh blackberries, fresh raspberries and fresh lime is a refreshingly punchy way to kick off an evening.
