...Places to dine during Diwali
“Fancy a hot and spicy celebration culminating in a climatic firework finale? Well you're in luck – Diwali starts next week.”
A wonderful opportunity to savour Indian cuisine at its finest, many of London's top Indian restaurants have created special tasting menus available exclusively during Diwali. For casual dining at its best, head to Trishna in Marylebone Village for a tasting menu of innovative South Indian coastal cuisine (available 17th – 26th October, from £35 per person). Or to the hip Bombay-style café, Dishoom, where special Diwali feasting menus are available for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike (available 18th – 30th October, from £22.50 per person).
City-based workers might like to celebrate with lunch at Cinnamon Kitchen (four-course Diwali menu available from 17th – 22nd October, £45 per person) or a round of delicious cocktails at Mint Leaf Lounge. And after the success of last year's event, The Cinnamon Club will again play host a Diwali banquet extravaganza of Indian cooking and entertainment with proceeds going to Action Against Hunger.
For a fine dining Diwali experience, Amaya, Tamarind or Benares all deliver Michelin starred Indian cuisine. Or try Veeraswamy, a glamorous restaurant off Regent Street that has been serving authentic Indian dishes to Londoners since 1926.
If you're looking to celebrate somewhere relaxed yet still special, both Moti Mahal and the sleek Mint Leaf Restaurant boast central locations and are well suited to pre-theatre dining. Whereas Chelsea locals are more likely to be seated amongst the leafy surrounds of Chutney Mary's airy conservatory.
It is advised to book ahead when dining during the Diwali period (17th – 30th October). Be sure to check the Deals page on LadyBlonde.com for special offers exclusively for Lady Blonde readers.
