...Ideas for First Dates
“I can certainly help on where you should go on a first date. But I'm afraid I can't help with who to take.”
If you are heading on a blind date, why not go one step further and actually emulate being blind at Dans Le Noir? Dine in complete blackness to find out the true colours of your date. Or if you want to get a bit more up-close and personal, sit side-by-side and enjoy exquisite tapas and beautiful wine in the ever-busy Barrafina in Soho.
Widely thought of as a restaurant that delivers regardless of time of day, who you are with, or the occasion, Le Caprice is the date place for you if you are looking to impress but not overwhelm. Bentley’s in Mayfair hits a similar spot with an added appeal of oysters for a little aphrodisiac. For something more low-key, head East and order some dishes to share in the rustic and cosy surroundings of Caravan, or venture South West to Mao Tai for a relaxed but chic setting.
For something more up tempo (though a little more expensive too) head to Nozomi where you can enjoy Pan-Asian cuisine whilst a DJ gets the party started. Likewise, at supperclub London, you can recline on beds and watch live entertainment to get the conversation going over dinner before dancing the night away and well, hopefully ending up on a bed again. Also suited to entertainment-seekers, is Circus where diners can enjoy men swinging through hoops as their dates try and make them jump through them.
Or start as you mean to go on, and take your date to Paradise. If you want to keep it relaxed, the informal and quirky surroundings of Paradise will satisfy the trendy-types.
