...Notting Hill Carnival Parties
“Carnival needn't be carnage. If you're heading to The Hill for some bank holiday fun, check out these happening hotspots or avoid the crowds in quieter corners.”
Kick the bank holiday weekend off with the Carnival Warm Up Party at Paradise on Friday night, but conserve your energy because the line up over the course of the weekend – including the likes of Jack Beats, Ms Dynamite and Stereo MCs – is worth holding out for.
The Prince Bonaparte could prove a great spot to set up camp if you get there early enough, or if you want to head out in the area but avoid the full-throttled-throng, head to either The Windsor Castle or The Mall Tavern near Notting Hill Gate or further west to Garden Bar. Duck into The Tabernacle for a breather and browse around Laslett’s Carnival – a photographic exhibition documenting the history of Notting Hill Carnival. And if you'd prefer to be in the thick of it, Trailer Happiness and The Lonsdale are likely to be rocking with Carnival spirit as will The Cow, where the Red Stripe will be flowing on tap.
A stylish alternative to the outside mayhem, supperclub will host their Secret Carnival After Party on Sunday night – an indoor carnival with fire eaters, aerial acrobats and live performances (tickets cost £10 and can be purchased here). And for those of you still standing on Monday night, the pop-up rave City.Too.Hot at Beach Blanket Babylon will make the perfect finale to the Carnival weekend. Enjoy!
